Walk-In Clinics

OrthoIndy Walk-In Clinics are currently available at our OrthoIndy Northwest, South and West locations. The OrthoIndy Walk-In Clinic is intended for patients with very recent injuries, sprains or broken bones (fractures). The Walk-In Clinic provides immediate access to orthopaedic care so you can avoid the emergency room wait and cost.  Because patients are seen in the Walk-In Clinic without appointments, we are unable to predict your wait time.

Walk-In Clinic Staff
At the OrthoIndy Walk-In Clinic you may be seen by a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner; also referred to as physician extenders. They will examine you, order x-rays if needed, provide a diagnosis and treat your specific injury. The OrthoIndy Walk-In Clinic provider will not prescribe refills for pain medication.

If the extenders determine that a physician is needed for your problem, one is always available.  A referral to one of our orthopaedic physicians at the location of your choice will be made based on your injury or ailment.

Who Can Be Seen at the Walk-In Clinics?
The OrthoIndy Walk-In Clinics are intended for individuals who have sustained a bone, joint or muscle injury within the past few days.

Not every patient is a candidate for the Walk-In Clinic.

The following will NOT be treated at the OrthoIndy Walk-In Clinics:

  • Individuals bleeding from an injury. Please proceed directly to a hospital emergency room or contact your current treating physician’s office for guidance.
  • Individuals whose pain is not the result of a very recent injury or if under the care of an orthopaedic surgeon. Please call our office and request to be seen sooner.
  • Those suffering from long-term or chronic conditions, such as back pain. Please make an appointment to see one of our physicians who specializes in your condition. (The Walk-In Clinic is only appropriate in this situation if there has been a fall or other traumatic injury in the past few days.)
  • Patients who need to address problems with a cast or surgical dressing. Please contact your treating physician for these issues.

To make an appointment to see an orthopaedic physician who specializes in your problem, please call our OrthoIndy Northwest office at (317) 802-2000 or our OrthoIndy South office at (317) 884-5200 to find a location near you.
