Dr. Falender seemed to have preconceived notions about the nature of my problem and did not actively listen to my concerns. Specifically, he assumed my pain was from a certain tendon, poked that tendon until it hurt and declared that was the site of my problem, hand-waved me when I said that the majority of my pain was in a completely different spot, described causes that did not fit my circumstances, and suggested treatment that would not alleviate my symptoms (aside from confirming I can take larger doses of OTC painkillers than indicated on the label). The x-rays confirmed no fractures or acute tears, which was my primary concern, so ultimately my personal goals were met, but I was left with a sour taste in my mouth. The facility itself was excellent and the front-desk and nursing/tech staff did a great job. I would like to emphasize that the doctor was not abrasive or rude, or even particularly unpleasant. He just didn't listen. Perhaps he was distracted by other events or was having an off day, and if that's the case I certainly sympathize. But the experience was less than ideal.
