Meet Dr. Shively

Dr. Stephen Shively is a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine and minimally invasive arthroscopic procedures. He’s committed to using the latest advancements in orthopedic care, including real-time 3D surgical navigation technology designed to enhance surgical precision, optimize implant placement and improve patient outcomes. His expertise in this innovative technique allows for safer procedures and quicker recoveries for his patients.

Dr. Shively traces his passion for orthopedics back to his time as a collegiate soccer player and later as a coach, where he gained a deep appreciation for the impact of sports injuries and the importance of expert care. He understands the challenges of staying active when the body doesn’t always cooperate and treats his patients with the same care and attention he would give his own family.

An Indianapolis Monthly Top Doctor honoree, Dr. Shively’s contributions to the field have also been recognized through publications in medical journals. A graduate of Marian University College of Osteopathic Medicine, he completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Western Reserve Hospital in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, followed by a fellowship in sports medicine and arthroscopy at Orthopedic Research of Virginia in Richmond. Dr. Shively is an active member of the American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedics, Arthroscopy Association of North America, American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine and the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons.
