Dr. Philip Huang earned his bachelor’s degree from Tulane University in 2006, where he also received a Master’s degree in Spanish a year later. He then attended medical school at the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine (CCOM), graduating in 2012. Dr. Huang performed his residency at CCOM, where he was awarded the Dr. Raymond Schlueter Award for Most Outstanding Orthopedic Surgery Resident after his first year and ended his residency as the Chief Academic Resident – Orthopedic Surgery in his final year. In 2018, he completed his Orthopedic Fellowship in Total Joint and Adult Reconstruction at the Scripps Clinic in La Jolla, California.
Dr. Huang has a special interest in rapid recovery protocols for joint replacement, factors affecting patient outcomes, and the utilization of technology and robotic assisted joint replacement. He has authored a number of publications and won several research awards, and currently serves as a peer reviewer for the Journal of Arthoplasty.
He is board certified with several association memberships including the American Osteopathic Board of Orthopedic Surgery, American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and American Academy of Hip and Knee Surgeons.
