Meet Dr. Stephen Kollias

Dr. Kollias graduated cum laude from Butler University in Indianapolis in 1985 where he made the first-team NCAA/GTE Academic All America Football Team as a defensive end. He won the Hilton U. Brown Award for Outstanding Student Athlete. Dr. Kollias attended the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine in Chicago, Illinois and graduated in 1989. He completed his internship and residency in orthopedic surgery at Indiana University Medical Center in Indianapolis in 1994 and a fellowship in shoulder, sports medicine and arthroscopy at Southern California Orthopaedic Institute in Van Nuys, California in 1995.

Dr. Kollias is currently a team physician for Butler University, Marian University and the Indiana Fever. He has provided sports medicine coverage in Indianapolis for many local and international events. He has received the Top Doctors Award for sports medicine from Indianapolis Monthly.

He specializes in treating shoulder problems and arthroscopic reconstruction surgery of the shoulder and knee. He has lectured and instructed many courses in arthroscopic surgery.

He reviews research publications for the American Journal of Sports Medicine. He has been published in numerous publications in sports medicine and orthopedic literature.

Dr. Kollias is a member of the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the Arthroscopy Association of North America. He also serves as a delegate for the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine.

The tablets at check in, are a nightmare. I would constantly tap the points in question, but it would not accept my taps (sometimes 8 or 10 times). I would constantly lick my finger to get a better contact, but that would still take several more tries before it would accept my choice. I could not continue until it finally saw my contact/tap, which was very frustrating. They are not user friendly. These tablets need to be eliminated.

I am nearly pain free one day post op. Terrific pain management routine. Dr Kollias explained everything that he did very thoroughly

We just left encouraged that there really may be help for the problem that we are experiencing. We could understand the illustration the doctor used and was very glad we had the visit with him.
